Redline the asphalt with headers tuned to your powerband. Primary tube diameter controls exhaust velocity and torque delivery across the RPM range.
Drag builds favor larger primaries. They support high-RPM flow from long-duration cams and high compression, pushing spent gases efficiently into the collector for peak horsepower.
Circle track applications run the 180-degree design. It routes primaries across banks to create an exhaust pulse every 180 crankshaft degrees for consistent mid-range pull.
Smaller tubes raise low-speed velocity. This sharpens torque where oval racing lives and prevents the efficiency drop larger pipes cause below the powerband.
Four-into-one headers dominate drag racing while 180-degree layouts own circle track. Verify all dimensions on your build sheet before welding.
