High-load 4x4 trucks punish the oiling system the moment torque hits the ring and pinion. Street-style 8620 gears handle daily abuse, but anything pushing past 800 hp needs the softer 9310 pro sets that absorb shock instead of shattering teeth.
Moroso cast-aluminum pans with front or rear sumps keep oil at the pickup during hard acceleration and side loads common in off-road or truck pulls. Powder-coated units for LS and LT swaps add capacity without extra weight.
AN -10 or -12 oil lines with 37-degree flares move volume without restriction. Route them away from exhaust and frame edges; PTFE hose handles the heat and E85 exposure if you run alcohol blends.
Bearing clearance and oil wedge integrity decide whether the bottom end survives repeated torque spikes. Check backlash after every hard outing on pro gears to stretch service life before debris circulates.
Over-gearing starves the engine of rpm on straights while under-gearing bogs it out of corners or holeshots. Use memory tach data to land the ratio that keeps the powerband alive under load.
