Oil Wedge Stability and AN Lines for High-Torque 4x4 Trucks

Build reliable oil delivery and bearing protection for loaded off-road trucks using proven pan and plumbing choices.

Loaded 4x4 trucks hammer bearings hard when torque spikes hit the driveline. The oil wedge must stay intact or the babbitt layer fails fast and debris circulates.

Moroso wet-sump pans with proper depth and pickup location keep oil at the pump inlet during steep angles and sudden load changes common in off-road work.

AN hose and fittings carry the volume needed without restriction. Select CPE or PTFE lines rated for the heat and pressure of engine oil under sustained pull.

Check clearances on rod and main journals before final assembly. Overloaded rods distort and break the oil film even when the pump is healthy.

Route lines away from exhaust and suspension travel to prevent abrasion. Secure every fitting with the correct flare seating to avoid leaks at peak torque.
