AN Hose Routing and Sump Choices for Loaded 4x4 Oiling

Race-shop guide to AN plumbing and wet-sump depth for 4x4 trucks that stay planted under heavy torque and off-road load.

Updated 2026-08-27

Under load, 4x4 trucks demand steady oil volume to the mains and rods. Moroso wet-sump pans with 7.50-inch depths keep the pickup submerged when the chassis pitches on asphalt or dirt.

AN lines carry that volume. 37-degree flare fittings seal against petroleum and synthetic oils while resisting abrasion from chassis flex; route them away from exhaust and driveshaft heat.

CPE or PTFE hose meets the pressure and temperature swings of loaded runs. Match hose ID to pump output so the oil wedge stays intact at the bearings when torque peaks.

Bearing failures often trace to lost film under sustained load. Proper sump baffling and AN plumbing keep debris from circulating and scoring journals after a single spun shell.

Heavy 4x4 builds that exceed street-gear limits still need the same oil discipline. Verify pan depth and line sizing on the build sheet before final assembly.
